Are teletext holidays abta protected8/14/2023 After 2 hours putting this scum bag in his place and talking to his managers, managers, manager they finally yielded and acted like they had done us a favour. Once he accepted and processed payment for 2 of our party, the price mysteriously went up by £150 per person for the 2nd booking of 3. We booked in 2 lots in the same call as it "worked out cheaper" according to our scum bag sales rep. We booked for a group of 5 going to Crete.Īfter being harassed for 3 days and around 20-30 phone calls we decided it was the best option available as there were "6 seats left" The initial advertised price was, and I have a screen shot of this from when me and my friends were discussing: £478 pp, we paid in total, just shy of £700pp. This seems to be common practice with Teletext. Any advice as to how to resolve this would be gratefully appreciated. We are now at our wits end as to how to resolve this and have sent copies of all correspondence to ABTA. As other reviewers have said the prices advertised online are never what you pay and from my experience I would never book with this company again. Teletext Holidays response is to say they are investigating the matter and to accept apologies for inconvenience. We have advised them that to withhold the money is tantamount to theft and until the money is returned we are unable to book another holiday. Despite 7 emails to Customer Support and 2 telephone calls we have yet to receive the refund. Immediately sent an email to Customer Support to request refund as soon as possible and received a response on 26th May advising refund has been processed and would be received in next 3 – 4 business days. The agent advised my debit card had already been debited to sum of £704.00 and refund would take up to 5 business days. Advised agent this was totally untenable and therefore we were not able to proceed. Queried flight seating arrangement, agent placed call on hold then advised that during our conversation flight had increased by another £150 each so overall cost approx £1,000. Gave debit card details and passenger details in good faith. After transfers, room upgrade and direct debit charge, agreed price of £704.00. Telephoned Teletext Holidays 25th May 2014 to follow up 4 night holiday for 2 people to Crete on 27th May advertised online for £311 per person.
